April Tierney


April Tierney lives in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains with her husband, young daughter, mischievous dog, and wide web of kin. Her background is steeped in the study of language, culture, artisanship, and the skills of human-making. She is the author of two full length collections of poetry, Singing to the Bones (2018) and Origin Stories (2020), a chapbook in collaboration with the abstract contemporary painter Will Day, entitled The Wonder Series (2019), and a photographic anthology with Kelly Shroads; Exposure: Stories in Honor of Our Humanity (2020). April’s work has been featured in The Wayfarer MagazineOrion, and The Real Ground Journal, among other publications. Her third full length collection of poetry,  Memory Keeper, is forthcoming in April of 2022 with Wayfarer Books. She is also a craftswoman, devout baker, novice gardener, lover of stories and the animate Earth.
