Our fall, spring and summer internship programs require roughly 12 hours a week and are open to college students as well as adults seeking training in a new career. Duties

  • Correspondence with authors
  • Assisting with the preparation of manuscripts to publication
  • Helping with market research projects
  • Writing promotional copy for social media and blog posting
  • Uploading weekly PR events/updates to distributor’s website
  • Reading incoming submissions for the press and our biannual magazine The Wayfarer
  • Filling orders that come through our eStore

What we look for

  • A strong desire to learn more about the book publishing industry
  • A passion for the written word
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Did we mention a passion for books?!

Proficiency in the following is a plus

  • WordPress
  • Social Media
  • Microsoft Word

Details Autumn Internship will start September 15th and run until December 15th. Spring internships start January 15th and run until May 15th. Summer internships start May 25th and run until August 25th. The Homebound Publications offices are based in Stonington, Connecticut and New Haven, Connecticut. Applicants can work remotely from home should they prove an ability to work unsupervised; however, when interns live within the area, we do encourage a weekly visit to the office (at least 1 day a week for 2-4 hours) in order to properly learn their duties and the industry from the senior staff. *Access to a reliable laptop is required. A laptop can be borrowed from the office if an intern is unable to provide their own. Deadlines for applications
